Working with the local workforce investment board and Catholic Charities of Buffalo, we have just completed contact training for both unemployed and underemployed individuals. The training was, as always, engaging and informative and it provided students with the tools to secure employment in the connectivity field. Employers visited the classroom and informed participants of opportunities all over the Buffalo and Niagara areas. According to Tim Zayac, C-Tech Master Trainer, “The employers liked our training in that it is relevant and timely. One interesting point was made by an employer that during the recent shutdown even more connectivity including Fiber Optics is being installed in hotel rooms while they are vacant in preparation for the connected needs in the future.” Following COVID safety protocols, all students have since certified and the class boasts an outstanding average of 94%, demonstrating their willingness to learn and apply the knowledge they were provided.
