Over the past few months, C-Tech has worked closely with American Indian Media Concepts to bring Broadband Academy training to the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, a sovereign nation with a legacy spanning more than 10,000 years. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to creating meaningful, long-term opportunities within Tribal communities. Launched last fall, the Broadband Academy workforce training program equips participants with the skills needed to pursue careers as technicians, installers, and wireless specialists. Through this initiative, Tribal members are gaining expertise to support critical infrastructure development, both within their own communities and beyond.

This impactful initiative is the result of a powerful four-organization collaboration. Funding was provided by the California Indian Manpower Consortium, whose mission centers on advancing social welfare, education, and economic opportunity for Indigenous communities. All Tribes American Indian Charter School provides classrooms and instruction, while American Indian Media Concepts serves as liaison and lead implementer, overseeing deployment and curriculum execution. C-Tech Associates contributes portable, hands-on training equipment, industry-driven curriculum, instructor training, and certification, ensuring the program’s long-term sustainability.

“We’re honored to partner with CIMC, All Tribes, and AIM Concepts to deliver certified broadband training that’s scalable, impactful, and rooted in community,” said David L. Brady, CEO of C-Tech.

The Broadband Academy at All Tribes Charter School is designed for both youth and adult learners, offering pathways to internships, apprenticeships, and career placement support. More importantly, it reinforces a powerful truth: Tribal communities are not only gaining access to connectivity, but they are also leading the way in building, maintaining, and advancing the infrastructure of the future.

This program comes at a pivotal moment, as significant federal and state investments, including the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program, Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program, American Rescue Plan Act, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act are accelerating efforts to expand internet access and close the connectivity gap in rural and underserved communities nationwide.
