Certified graduates are encouraged to investigate and CEDIA and CEDIA training programs as continuing skill/knowledge development.

Report Course Certification

Certified completers of a C-Tech program who are CEDIA members will need to visit the website to report their attendance and submit their certification.

You may do so by logging into CEDIA.net and selecting  My Profile in the top right.  Within the profile, select Submit CEU which will bring up a short form to finalize submission.

CEDIA is an International Group of many types of companies that design, promote, and provide technology to the connected Smart Home.  They provide training through member companies and also provide their own certifications related to integrated residential technologies.  Technicians with CEDIA certifications are in demand in the realm of Smart Home Connectivity.

CEDIA provides both foundational and advanced training designed for those working in the Smart Home industry.  C-Tech programs support CEDIA training objectives and certified graduates are awarded continuing education credits CEUs as shown below.

CEDIA Certifications

Continuing Educational Units apply to three CEDIA Certifications

  • CEDIA IST: applies to all rough-in and trim-out tasks as well as retrofit installation, component installation and troubleshooting.
  • CEDIA ESC-N: applies to communications with clients as well as design and installation professionals. Graduates are versed in integrated residential systems, including alarm, telephone, data, audio, video, home theater, HVAC, and lighting control.
  • CEDIA ESC-D: indicates mastery of all design, installation and configuring of connected networking systems.
